The Hillside Library is pleased to offer an online service to Hillside residents who would like tutoring assistance.
With a click of the button called “Live Homework Help” on this page, students from 4th through 12th grade can access private online tutoring help between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Subjects covered are English, Math (Algebra, Geometry and Calculus), Science (Earth Sciences, Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Social Studies.
En Español (Spanish-speaking tutors are available Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.)

Tutors are fully certified in their specific subject areas and allow patrons to have the opportunity to learn in a one-to-one environment from any library computer or from the privacy of their own home computer. How It Works
Students connect to a tutor in an Online Classroom for up to 20 minutes of help. Students and tutors can review specific homework questions using features such as chat, an interactive white board, and Web co-browsing. When the session is over, students can print their session for future reference or to share with a parent, guardian, or teacher. Technical Facts are available.
Before You Connect
Practice. Try the Practice Online Classroom. Once you feel comfortable, you can go back and connect to an expert tutor.
Make sure your computer has the Basic System Requirements for Live Homework Help. You may have to download the Online Classroom Plug-ins or you can download this software at http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi.

Please bring a question to your Homework Help session and get ready to learn! Our tutors will help you with your questions but they won't simply give you the answers. Respect your tutor as you would your teacher. Do not use inappropriate language or share inappropriate materials in the classroom
